New BMW Performance Kit Boosts

s well setting the stage for the world premiere of the Vision CD roadster concept and the production version of the pure-electric 1-Series ActiveE, the Geneva Motor Show will also see the launch of BMW's new Performance Power Kit for the firm's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine found on numerous models including the 1-,3- and 5-Series range in both rear- and all-wheel drive configurations. The upgrade is available for both the previous 177HP as well as the newer 184HP 2.0L engine.
Thanks to an engine software optimization plus a larger intercooler and a more-efficient fan for the main radiator, output is lifted from 177HP and 350Nm to 197HP and 390Nm, and from 184Hp and 380Nm to 200HP and 420Nm, for each engine respectively. According to BMW, the acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in 5th gear is up to one second faster after the conversion.
Buyers can also add BMW's Performance Sports Silencer that comes with two round, chrome plated 74mm tail pipes, and which in addition to optimizing exhaust back pressure, also offers a sportier sound.

Suddenly broke, he was forced to sell his BMW dealership, parts stock, tooling, and motorcycles to survive, for which he was paid pennies on the dollar given the ramping-up of the propaganda machine against anything, and anyone, German (or Japanese). After selling nearly everything he owned, all he had left in the world was his most precious possession, the R51RS which had been entrusted to him by the BMW factory. When it became clear that this, too, must be sold, he did what he had to, and sold the bike. He then took his own life.

The BMW Hydrogen Hybrid Cars

With BMW's announcement that they're developing several models of hybrid vehicle to be introduced over the next few years a new market segment is starting to emerge - the luxury hybrid. Well known for innovation, quality, and style in the standard car market, BMW's entry into the hybrid market is sure to have a positive effect on the future of non-fossil fuel powered vehicles.

BMW 7 Series Hybrid
The first BMW hybrid model to be available will be in the popular 7 Series. Already in testing, this car will run on both Hydrogen and gasoline. The primary challenge of developing this kind of hybrid in comparison to the fuel cell technology that other manufacturers are using is in keeping the Hydrogen in liquid form so it's usable by the engine.

Because Hydrogen is only liquid at very low temperatures and the natural state of the engine compartment is very hot, keeping the hydrogen from getting too hot and evaporating is a significant challenge. Issues with transporting and storing Hydrogen at fuel stations is also an issue as is making the fuel available in enough locations to give motorists enough places to refuel to make owning the car practical.

Hydrogen Power
In contrast to other car manufacturers who are concentrating on gas/electric hybrids with the eventual goal of producing all-electric vehicles, BMW's plan has nothing to do with electricity or the heavy and expensive batteries that storing and delivering electricity to a vehicle requires.

BMW already boasts a car that runs completely on water and, with their proven technology that produces Hydrogen from sunlight, they believe an entirely self-sustainable fuel system using solar cells to product Hydrogen that will then power the vehicle is viable within the next decade.

Into the Future
The driving force behind BMW's push for Hydrogen fueled vehicles are the benefits they believe Hydrogen has over alternate fuels like gasoline, electricity, or other solid fuels. Not does Hydrogen pose no environmental threat and produce no emissions it's also a completely renewable form of energy that uses no natural resources that aren't easily replenished.

BMW's plan to eventually produce a car that runs entirely on Hydrogen produced by boiling water with energy from the sun (through solar cells) is certainly an exciting notion. Only time will tell if they can pull it off but the incredible promise of what they're trying to do makes this writer hope that they do.

As per the market speculations BMW India is planning to launch its two seater BMW Roadster Z4 Sports Car in India on 12th October. BMW India is very positive about selling about 30-40 units first year after launch.

The BMW Roadster Z4 is a rear-wheel drive sports car. After its debut BMW Roadster Z4 won Automobile Magazine "Design of the Year Award". When she's not fingerpainting on Mars or curating Visible Trash, Little Shiva is probably dreaming of The Dotmobile, plotting and scheming on how to get her shipped to Europe as part of traveling trash art expo in 2010. Stranded in Charlotte NC without a car back in the early 00's, Little Shiva put out a call and a kind soul answered. Dave Neff had driven his prized Beemer into a ditch and crunched her up a bit. Too embarrassed to sell her given the twisted shape she was in, he was about to give her to the scrapyard when fate intervened – Little Shiva got her for a dollar. A year or so later after returning from her first trip to Burning Man, Little Shiva decided to start the transformation . . . and Dot was born. Moving to Belgium in 2007 meant leaving Dot behind: she's currently the art car-in-residence at the Juggling Gypsy in Wilmington, NC.

Giant Tire Painting with a BMW Art Car

Artist Robin Rhode installed a set of paint squirters on a 2010 BMW Z4 and then set it in motion upon canvas. This giant football field sized piece of art is entitled "An Expression of Joy." and was created after hours of driving the car to and fro in exact patterns to get the paint thickness just so. I think its a great marketing idea by BMW to promote their new car, well done.
