The Making of Stellabelle Art Car - Video

Here is an art car from one of my facebook friend named Leah Stella called Stellabelle a 99 Toyota with Almost 200,000 miles on it. The outside depicts worms, lights and Dr. Suess style things and was painted using exterior house paint. Stella is a videographer, composer, graphic artist and Youtube director with a very interesting video of the making of her art car and if you like this there is plenty of it where that came from on her YouTube channel.

Igloonator 2000 - "Cool" Igloo Mobile Art Car

One New Yorker found a way to keep cool this summer by converting their Toyota car into an igloo. What better way to stay cool in traffic on the way to work than to be sitting in the "Igloonator 2000" art car conversion kit. Garden Art Car Goes to Court

This garden art car is headed to The U.S. Supreme Court that will consider an appeal next month from the owner of Planet K stores over his long-running battle with the city of San Marcos about his right to display it. In 2007 Michael Kleinman paid two artists to transform this salvage special in front of his store into a painted cactus planter art car. City officials got themselves hot and bothered, claiming the Oldsmobile 88 was in violation of a city ordinance declaring such displays public nuisances. The car was removed and Kleinman is appealing a 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling in February that found the car-planter to be “ultimately a junked vehicle.”  Good luck with that!! via Its funny I was going to do a garden art car post a while back and forgotten about it until my dad sent me this article two days ago. As you can see these are just a few of the garden cars I found from around the world. Most are intentional, some natural and the last one is purely accidental. Little Bit of Nonsense Art Car by Randy Blair

Little Bit of Nonsense art car was just sent in by Randy Blair shown here with his wife Wendy Wanda at this years Houston Art Car Parade. Its a tiny 2007 Toyota Yaris, that's completely covered with Dichroic glass, magnets, bumper stickers, toys and a ton of other things that he has made. The Bubble Monster Strikes Again

The Bubble Monster art car was created by Sonny, a 93 Toyota Camry 4 door turned into a 2 door sculpted using spray foam.

It's an interactive art car that makes bubbles that come out from the tail, eyes, nose, teeth  and the main body. It also has a nifty tunnel so
kids can crawl through the car.

Sonny is also working on adding more interactive features to the Bubble Monster and is available for parties and corporate gigs. Nice work Sonny.

The Super Duper Trooper Raygun by Robynn Sanders - RIP

The Super Duper Trooper Raygun in all its former glory.

I am sorry to announce the passing of The Super Duper Trooper Raygun a Toyota SUV created by Robynn Sanders who recently finished a painting a MINI Couper called Animated Robots. It seems that the Raygun had a close encounter of the wrong kind and is now headed to the "Yard" on its last and final mission.

Here is what Robynn had to say about her art car.

It was a cosmic and complex car, with many life saving properties and it will be missed.

The Duckmobile Art Car by Jen Mulder

The Duckmobile was just sent in by Jen Mulder a Toyota 89 Camry with a whopping 260,000 miles covered in rubber ducks. She lives in Madison WI and fortunately for Jen there is plenty of room for more rubber ducks to be added to the sides and hubcaps. Jen also made the big time in a feature done by her local news about her business The Electric Needle and her amazing and fun Duckmobile, great job!!! That blue really makes those ducks stand out:):):)

The Card Car aka JoeCar From New Zealand

TheCardCar nicknamed JoeCar or JOKERis 1983 TOYOTA STARLET, created by Ted Charlton for art and fun and I believe the first art car submitted from New Zealand. The car has a dozen jumbo decks, four 500 decks and approx. four standard decks, then coated with two coats of polyurethane resin. The character cards from two German decks are also placed behind the rear doors and inside on the front dash, due to their wonderful artistic quality.

Ted is looking for like minded art cars covered in cards so he can compare notes on technique, so be sure to let him know if you come across another one. I know of a few cars covered in paper products such as the Pokemon Art Car and the Stamp Art Car, so their might be some connection there. Good luck Ted and thanks for your submission.

Flamingo Art Cars and Bikes Take Off

I've always thought it would be great to cover a car in pink flamingos so this is the next best thing for me, blog entry filled with flamingo cars and bikes. Its also funny to me how different each art car is from each other, ranging from mounted flamingos to painted flamingos. I like this first one, with a few flamingos mounted high up on poles on a jet black car, very striking(sorry no more drive through for you). I also included an art car with a wanted sign asking people for flamingos to take his current art car to the next level. And lets not forget the flamingo art bikes. Today is good day for something pink

He is also a musician, puppet maker and painter of guitars furniture and now a very beautiful and amazing art car. Hello- David Hervey here. I am a painter and musician from Wilmington, NC. I grew up at the beach and have enjoyed art and music since a young age. I started my painting career shortly after graduating from ECU in the spring of 1997. My main media interests are in acrylic painting as well as mask and puppet making. Recently, I have started custom painting guitars to get a true one-of-a-kind instrument look. I draw my inspiration from God my creator, and from my awesome friends and family. I love to spark feelings of happiness in my paintings, though serious subject matter is often portrayed as well. Both realism and abstraction are captured in my works as I feel it helps to keep me balanced and never bored with my projects. I strive for my work to exhibit vibrancy, though not necessarily perfect realism. I enjoy impressionistic realism because it captures life’s beauty in an original, energetic way.
